One hundred Daily Candles,

At 6.00 PM each day,

They helped to keep us grounded,

And kept our fears at bay.

So every day in ‘Belvoir’,

Our little flames burned bright:

As Covid drowned the world in tears,

We prayed against the blight.

The candles gave us comfort,

Cut off here in our homes,

Their faithful flames reminded us

That are not alone.

That God Himself is with us,

Through every fearful day,

And Jesus goes before us,

Our Brother on life’s way.

Although the candle lighting

Each evening may have ceased,

We still can pray throughout our days,

For light, and hope and peace!!
