WONDER OF THE WEB

WONDER OF THE WEB

Has anyone considered

On a misty autumn day,

How spinners weave their magic,

In a truly wondrous way?

Little hedges everywhere,

Glistening and bright,

Swathed in silky drapery,

Diaphanous delight!

How many spinning spiders

To decorate one tree,

At skilful work all through the night,

Unseen by you and me?

Those tiny eight-legged creatures

Are brilliant engineers—

From just a single strand of silk,

A miracle appears!

Lord, bless the little spiders,

And all their careful weaving;

And teach me, as I watch your world,

That seeing is believing!!!
