The Church’s Ministry of Healing: The Mount
Healing Services in Church
1. Come to Jesus
Please remember as you come for this Ministry of Prayer – it is to Jesus you come. If you so wish hands will be laid on you, and prayer will be offered, but it is Jesus who heals. He said, ‘without me you can do nothing’.
2. Laying on of Hands
We believe that in laying on of hands the power of God and the love of God and the Spirit of God passes through the person praying into the one receiving prayer.
3. Come expectantly
When we come to receive prayer we should come expectantly. Jesus said, ‘if you ask for anything in my name, I will give it to you’. So come with confidence, taking Jesus as His word.
4. Be Open
Come relaxed and open to receive the healing the God wishes to give you. There is no need to be shy or nervous – don’t even think about what other people might say – as you come for prayer. You can be at peace in the presence of Jesus.
5. Let go
Try to let go of anything that may be burdening you – fears, worries, anxieties, resentment, anger, jealousy, yield these burdens into God’s hands.
6. When you come for prayer
Ask Jesus for the type of healing you want
-for a loved one
-for a friend
-for someone who is giving you trouble
and keep your eyes on Jesus.
7. Give Thanks
As you receive prayer and blessing, quietly give thanks to God that He has touched you.
A definition of healing To set men, women and children free to be able to begin to love God, their neighbour and themselves, and to know the immensity of God’s love for them.
