Do you want to help people in distress? Are there people around you who are experiencing difficult circumstances or problems in their lives and you do not have the skills to respond to them?
This course is designed for those who would like to develop their understanding of pastoral care from a Christian perspective and become more effective in relating to and caring for the people and communities around them.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of human responses to life situations, such as serious illness, separation or death of a loved one; to develop their skills in coming along side those who are hurting; and to develop skills in forming good relationships.
This is a 40 hour course made up of 10 two and a quarter hour led group sessions plus personal reflection time which includes creating a personal learning journal and reading and reviewing a relevant book.
